A Prayer for Unity
If I had to say only one thing that could fix all the problems in the church
today it is this:
"Go into all the world and preach the gospel of Jesus Christ to all
creation, he who believes and is baptized will be saved." (Mark 16:16 paraphased).
If Christians were doing there first and most important job-- evangelism,
then all the problems, devouring one another, unfaithfulness and false
teachings would all go away. When you teach others you teach yourselves.
I have this prayer, one that I hope you have too.
I pray that all the Christians throughout the world would get back to
the Bible and ONLY the Bible.
I pray that all the Christians would give up all things that they can
not find either by commandment or by example in the word of God.
I pray that all the Christians would not justify what they do by any
means other than "It is written...".
I pray that all the Christians get back to the love of Jesus and put
away the social clubs and church entertainment.
I pray that all the Christians would tear down all the Christian organizations
they can not find in the scriptures.
I pray that all the Christian would put away the man-made ordinances
or opinions that separate them.
I pray that all the Christians preach the word of God to all creation.
